We're halfway through the 2023 season of American Idol, and each show demonstrates how talented the participants are. With judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan,
and Lionel Richie consistently delivering input, spectators are astounded by the charisma, anecdotes, and, most importantly, skill that each candidate brings to the historic stage in the live presentations.
As the Top 10 of the singing competition show were announced, one particular vocalist stood out: William "Iam" Tongi,
whom viewers first met in the season premiere. At the time, the 18-year-old talked up about his father Rodney's passing and how their closeness inspired him to audition for American Idol.
In addition, his passionate rendition of James Blunt's "Monsters" moved Luke to tears.
Since then, supporters have continued to applaud Iam's success and wonder if he's on pace to win the coveted title in the spring finals.
While it's uncertain where his career will take him, there's a lot to know about the young musician before he blew out on American Idol.
While Iam is making news right now, this isn't the first time he auditioned for American Idol. The Kent Reporter reported in March that the ambitious artist had previously tried out for the famous series.
